Merry Christmas Friends!
From my home to yours…merry Christmas!
In our neighborhood, there is a house lit up like a fancy department store. There’s a huge Santa, Grinch, and Elf on the roof. There’s a snowman on the lawn. And a sleigh and reindeer.
Across the street, there’s a manger scene. It’s not lit up and it’s easy to pass by without noticing.
What a picture of what the world is like in December. The glitz of lights and decorations. The hustle and bustle of malls and sales. The constant whir of activity from gift wrapping to preparing party appetizers.
And the manger stands silently…waiting for us to notice. Beckoning for us to come closer.
For here is the reason for Christmas and cause for peace and rejoicing.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Let us draw close to Christ on Christmas day and remember His love for us all year long!
