When my mom saw my book for the first time, she said, “I wish there were pictures inside.” I reminded her impatiently (sorry mom!) that books like mine weren’t picture books. So for all of you who wonder what these people look like – here you go! This is Gracie Rosenberger, the courageous woman I write about in Day 6.
Gracie is a double amputee who is a amazing wife, mother, singer and author. She and her family help other amputees in countries like Ghana get fitted with prosthetic limbs. Gracie “exudes life” as her husband so accurately says.
I wrote this chapter because I thought, “Wouldn’t it be profitable to market grace in a bottle?” If someone could just spray something on and instantly become more gracious, resilient, strong, and kind? Ah, but life doesn’t work that way. Grace can’t be bought or put on. But my friend Gracie shows the way. To rely on the strength of Christ for grace, this is the grace we all have access to. And lucky for us, it doesn’t cost a penny.
