Do you love what you do?  If you are doing the exact same thing in one year, would you be happy with that?

I was visiting friends in Palm Springs with my family and we learned that our friends church, Southwest Community Church, operated 3 thrift stores.  We didn’t need to hear any more.  We were going.  We love thrift stores!

Turned out I got a winter coat (pink!) for my daughter for only $2.50.  Hardback books for kids were half price for 25 cents.  Paperback books were 5 cents.  We had a great time as you can imagine because we love the thrill of a steal!  As I stood in line, an energetic lady probably in her late 60s was checking people out.  She had a steady stream of customers yet took time to look each person in the eye and make conversation.  She knew the regulars – “See you next time!” When she got to me, I commented on what a great job she was doing.  “That’s why we get the big bucks!” she said with a smile.  She explained they were all volunteers from the church.  It was so neat to see someone serving and loving what they were doing.

When we have something we love to do in our life, it gives us a reason to smile.  What’s your reason to look forward to tomorrow?
