This week, I got to meet with a wonderful group of women who are beginning a small group study of 31 Days to a Happy Husband. In case you are thinking of doing this for a book club, let me provide you with some ideas for your group.
For a five week study:
Week 1 – Domestic Tranquility
Week 2 – Respect
Week 3 – Eros
Week 4 – Attraction
Week 5 – Mutual Activities
Small group discussion questions are in the back of the book.
For a six week study:
Use as above but add one introductory session at the beginning. You can ask questions like:
How did you and your husband meet?
What first attracted you to him?
What’s one of the best dates you’ve ever had?
What qualities do you admire in your man?
What’s been a low point or source of tension in your marriage?
Fast forward to the end of this study. What do you hope to accomplish? What do you want to see change in your relationship?
For an eight week study:
Week 1 = Introduction (see above)
Week 2 – Domestic Tranquility
Week 3 – Respect
Week 4 – Eros
Week 5 – Attraction
Week 6 – Mutual Activities
Week 7 – What hit you the hardest in the study? What does your group need to flesh out more?
Week 8 – Prayer and praise. What has God been doing in your home these past 2 months? Commit in prayer together for your marriages.
If you have a book club group reading 31 Days to a Happy Husband, I would love to hear about it! Who knows? Maybe I can drop in via speaker phone or Skype for a meeting!
