I saw a t-shirt the other day that read, “My Coffee Needs Coffee.”

If we’re counting on coffee or personal confidence to get us through the day, we won’t get too far for too long.  Instead we must count on the God of Israel who never sleeps!

Today in my Proverbs 31 devotional, I write about how God is smarter and stronger than we think.  Here are some affirmations about the greatness of God to lift your spirits today:

I may be weak, but God is strong.

Who is this King of glory?  The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.  Psalm 24:8

I may be unfaithful, but God is faithful.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.  2 Timothy 2:13

I may be tired, but God never tires.

Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber or sleep.  Psalm 121:4

I may be worried, but God has it all under control.

But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak.  But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.  Mark 13:11

I may be fearful, but God is courageous.

“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you do.”  Joshua 1:9

I may not know the answer, but God is omniscient (all-knowing).

He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.  Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.  Psalm 147:4-5

I may be critical, but God is merciful.

I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, for You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities. Psalm 31:7

I may be unkind, but God is all loving.

Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.  Jeremiah 31:3

I may be tempted to give up, but God never gives up.

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?” Luke 15:4

I may be impatient, but God is patient.

Love is patient and is kind.  1 Corinthians 13:4
