Last Thursday was a very special day for me.  A few months ago, I was brainstorming with my husband and we came up with an idea.  Wouldn’t it be neat to throw a party for pastors’ wives and women’s ministry leaders?  Many times these women plan and give, but no one takes time to say a meaningful thank you.

Thus the idea for an appreciation dessert!  Well, if you’ve ever planned an event, you know that was just the beginning.  But months later, it really happened!  My home church San Diego First Assembly served as host.  A wonderful team of ladies came alongside me to make it happen.

We had a great time of meeting new friends, making meaningful connections, laughing, praying and eating together.  The environment was warm and I believe community was born.  It was exactly what I had envisioned in the first place!

After the event, many ladies told me how encouraged they felt.  Validated.  Loved.  Energized to do the task at hand.  That’s the power of community and growing closer to one another.

When God puts something on your heart, go for it.  He will provide everything needed for the task!

P.S.  Some of the desserts were even healthy – check out the beautiful fruit basket!
