IMG_0363I love the tradition of decorating the Christmas tree on the day before Thanksgiving.  As we take ornaments out of the box, we hold memories of years ago.

A petrified Christmas cookie my husband James made in elementary school some thirty-something years ago

A bride and groom given to us for our wedding

A ski gondola from Austria where I attempted skiing for the first time (NOT advisable for a husband to teach a wife to ski)

Kindergarten crafts from the kids

Bright-Morning-Star-300x300And this year…we added something really special to the tree.  A tree topper that says “I Am the Bright Morning Star” from the Ever Thine Home Collection created by FamilyLife.

It is beautiful!

Our tree topper isn’t exactly on top of our tree (we ran out of ceiling space), but it does the trick.  I love this collection created by Barbara Rainey to help us as moms decorate for Christmas with a purpose.  I just heard her on FamilyLife Today talking about putting Christ first in Christmas.

What a wonderful way to share Jesus with our kids through Christmas ornaments and decorating the tree.  It’s something we already do, so instead of adding something to our packed to-do list, it helps us make our tree trimming more meaningful.

I’m all about that!

So, I hope you will enjoy your Christmas tree this year.  And whether it’s for this year or next, check out the Ever Thine Home Collection of ornaments and décor to put a sacred hue into all your decorating!
