Moms…it’s time to unleash your courage!
Is there something you’ve wanted to try but you just haven’t quite mustered up the courage?
This month, my kids were in a fantastic play at church called Agape League. They have been practicing since June. Here’s my youngest Lucy at rehearsal looking very courageous, don’t you think?
My oldest child Ethan wasn’t so sure about being in a musical. He really wanted to pass. But we challenged him to unleash his courage, try something new, and simply show up (even if he didn’t want to) because this was going to be the summer of the Pellicane kids being in a musical!
Now that the play is over, Ethan will be the first to tell you how much fun he had.
Sometimes we just need a nudge to do something new and courageous (and then a steady stream of encouragement to keep us there!).
What might you try this fall that requires a little courage?
It could be:
Making an apology
Following through with discipline for your kids
Marriage counseling
Trying a new sport or physical activity
Sharing your faith
The command “fear not” is found throughout the Bible. You’re not the only one who has been afraid or unsure. God will help you defeat fear and find courage to try new things and also to do the right thing.
Isaiah 41:10 says:
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
You have more than a superhero on your side. You have the Lord God Almighty.
